Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers, motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.  The celebration of Mother's Day began in the United States in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in West Virginia and shortly thereafter began a campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday.  In 1914 the holiday was nationally recognized.  By the 1920s. Jarvis' holiday was adopted by other countries and is now celebrated all over the world. 

In the "Mother's Day" tradition, each person offers a gift, card, or remembrance toward their mothers, grandmothers, and/ or maternal figure on mother's day and the greatest gift a mother will ever receive is the pleasure of raising a successful and independent child.  To experience your child having carried on your legacy is just an added bonus.  Lets check out celebrity offspring's that stepped into their mother's shoes down a path of fame, fortune and fun...

According to Mrs. Mona Scott-Young, Executive Producer of the Love & Hip Hop franchise, the reality TV show is NOT and I repeat, NOT staged, which means that the story lines are presumably 100% authentic.  If this notion rings an ounce of truth then the following photos are absolutely hilarious to say the least and the fact that I didn't even have to pic stitch them together is priceless!!

After watching this weeks premiere of Love & Hip Hop ATL I was team Mimi when she proceeded to exit her baby daddy Stevie J and his mistress/prostitute Joseline Hernandez stage left from Stevie's home in Atlanta.  However I came across these funny photos of the trio at last weeks LHHATL premiere party.  I'm starting to believe that the reason Mimi Faust can be so sure that Joseline is in fact a woman is because these three have been swinging with each other for quite sometime now.  

I find it pretty strange that Mimi gets upset at Stevie for falling in love with the sidechick when she agreed to bring Joseline into the bedroom... which is probably why Mimi only gets upset with the situation while the cameras are rolling, otherwise she's all smiles apparently...

By gosh I think they've got it!... with Black's being damn near extinct from television within recent years, things are slowly starting to turn back around and possibly break even.  With the emergence of a wave of talented actors, writers, directors and producers of color stepping up to the plate claiming their "I Got Next" status I am proud to salute these individuals for taking the baton in the race of "Growth & Greenbacks"...

I know Mr. & Mrs. T.I. & Tiny Harris is beloved as the 2nd family of hip hop and all and traveling comfortably is a must with their schedules, but when I saw this pic I couldnt help but to burst out with laughter and roll all over my dang floor!  

While the blogs were going hard on Tiny's so called unattractiveness (keep in mind that I do not agree with the popular opinion), I can't seem to get over T.I.'s rainbow bright costume! These country folk sure do keep things interesting.  And the big cheese smile like he's killing it... comedy at its finest!

NFL Baller Dez Bryant FINALLY Apologizes For Being A Woman-Beater!

Its been 4 years since I've fully accepted my obsession with the Green Bay Packers  and football as a whole, however when Dallas Cowboy's wide receiver Dez Bryant was charged with a Class A misdemeanor for violence against his mother, Angela, I vowed not to watch another Dallas Cowboy game until action was taken against the player.  

Several months after the incident, a conditional dismissal was awarded to Bryant in the event that he completes general counseling and doesn't get charged with any crimes for up to one year, which would lead to the charges being fully dismissed.  

In my opinion, you would have to be the scum of the earth to not only assault a woman but to bully your own mother!  As a woman and a parent of a female child, I was utterly disgusted with the way the Dallas Cowboy's gave Bryant a silent pass so that he could continue to play throughout the season.  

A part of my contempt for the baller can finally begin to heal, thanks to a story ran by USA Today,  which reports that Bryant made a surprise appearance at an event last Saturday in Dallas to speak up against domestic violence. 

At the "Dallas Men Against Abuse" rally, Dez Bryant gave a loose attempt of an apology for allegedly hitting his mother, here's what he had to say:

“Here’s all you need to know, I’m done with domestic abuse.  I made a mistake.  I just want everybody to know, it’s not good to hit women and I challenge every man out here to X all domestic violence of your life.”

Usually I would just go all in while coming up with some witty punch lines to trash the baller (like I have done so often in the past via twitter in regards to this situation) but I'm a stickler for doing the right thing and while second chances are hard to come by with me, if this half ass apology is even remotely sincere, I can begin the process of forgiveness.  

But (yes there's a damn but!) with the emotional connection that I have with the game of football and my no-tolerance policy on domestic violence, I can't be sure that this wasn't a stunt on behalf of Bryant's PR team, however I would like to believe that this young man is on a healing road of redemption.  Keep your hands to yourself Dez and I might even start watching you play again, because the reality is, the boy is talented. ~@tistalklounge

Is Beyonce The Perfect Face For H&M???

According to The Daily News The Swedish retailer H&M confirmed on Thursday that Beyoncé will appear in ads for its island-inspired summer campaign, shot on the beaches of Nassau in the Bahamas.

First the Inaugural Ceremony performance, then the Superbowl Halftime Show, then the face of Pepsi, to the highest rated HBO special and now the face of H&M... if nothing else good happens, Beyonce Knowles-Carter is officially having the best year ever!!!

King Bey is set to kick off the chain-store's new summer campaign with both print and television ads.  She is also slated to debut a new song entitled, “Standing On The Sun,” to accompany the ads.  


There are 3 major reasons why Beyonce is the best fit for the campaign:

1. DEMOGRAPHICS: Beyonce's fan base is largely H&M's customer.

2. STYLE: Beyonce's style has always been the every-girl style uniform; shirt, blazer, jeans paired with a pair of pumps.  

3. MARKETABILITY: Beyonce has an H&M personality; light, fun, flirty and simplistic. 


Although I am not down with the overly obsessed Beyonce fan-base, also known as, The Beehive, I do respect her work ethic, talent, personality, upstanding disposition and beauty.  Throughout all the success, money & fame, she has managed to remain relatable to the average young woman which falls right in line with what H&M prides itself on.

Spring/Summer 2013 Shoe Must-Haves!!!

While most girlies continue to go crazy over ever pair of Louboutin's that grace the masses, my goal was to list my top 10 Spring/Summer 2013 must have shoes, however during my research I completely and utterly fell head over heels (literally) with all the prospects.  

This season's trend is all about the ankle and the cut-outs, so if your lower leg game is not yet tight, you got about 4 weeks to get it together.  My favorite colors for this season are undoubtedly pale pink, cobalt, citrus yellow, coral, and turquoise.  It warms my heart that shoe makers have taken notice and added these vibrant colors to their footwear!

Fendi $1100

These Fendi-Fatal's are like crack to me... one look and I was hooked!  I've always vowed to never spend more than $350 for a pair of shoes, however that notion went right out the window at first sight of these gems.  Most people have debated me on these beauties, luckily Fendi, appreciates a girlie that enjoys having fun with her shoe styles.  Beware, my ego will be on level 20 when I step out in these!!!

WTF ARE YOU WEARING??? Kim Kardashian & Kris Jenner

Kim Kardashian and Momager, Kris Jenner attended the Topshop Topman LA Opening Party Wednesday night in LA and boy did they disappoint.   If this is any sign of how Kim Kardashian tends to dress during her pregnancy, I am not impressed! 

Although the usually stylish reality tv star's fashionista status has recently diminished (since the whole KimYe creation), this look takes the cake, for both divas!  Feathers and leather is NEVER a good look on an expecting woman.  You end up looking like big bird instead of sheik and stylish. 

With minimal accessories, all black everything, and bad highlighting with the makeup all I have to say is WTF Are They Wearing??? Both women are too fly for this mess. I mean, what ever happened to the little black dress for lazy dress up days like this one.  ~Ms. Tyson
